Learning Life Skills/ Lesson for Students Teachers and Parents by Prime Minister Narendra Modi/ How to become an Exam Warrior

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi interacting with school and college students, during the ‘Pariksha Par Charcha 2.0’, in New Delhi on January 29, 2019.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today, interacted with students, teachers and parents, as part of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0 at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi. Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi discussed core issues related to life of students, teachers and parents during the examination and all stakeholders’ pre and post examination effect. Is a person’s life more than one examination? What are essential issues that should be taken utmost care by students, teachers and parents?

A successful person sets up a standard for himself. It is essential in life.

Expectations are essential….we can’t be living in an atmosphere of despair and unhappiness.
When people have aspirations from a person, it is good. Clarity of thought and conviction are essential.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi with the students, during the ‘Pariksha Par Charcha 2.0’, in New Delhi on January 29, 2019.

टेक्नोलॉजी का सदुपयोग

Technology should lead to expansion of the mind and as a means to innovate.

How to score good marks in board exam/School Toppers Tips and Tricks for School Students

School Toppers’Tips and Tricks for Scoring Good Marks in CBSE Board Examination in an Interactive Session with Board Appearing Students

Read ‘History’ like story a book. We should read and comprehend ‘History’ like story, Said Tannu with 10th Class board appearing students. Parent, teacher, and principal share exam tips with students i.e. how to score good marks in different board exams on the basis of their experience and feedback given by students. In fact, the student who appeared in board exam and scored more than 95 % marks in almost all subjects , his/her real life problems, struggles  before the exam  and during the exam,  her  techniques to overcome different level of hurdles can sound good for  the appearing  students of board exam. It was, indeed a great interactive session with last year CBSE Board Exam School toppers Ms. Tannu and Ms Laxmi with board appearing candidates.

This interactive session with school toppers provided students a great opportunity to share and discuss their enormous problems and clarify their doubts to Ms. Tannu and Ms Laxmi. Board appearing candidates asked so many tricky questions i.e. (a) what should be study before the exam? (b) How to cover the entire syllabus during the examination?

Interactive session with last year CBSE Board Exam School toppers Ms. Tannu and Ms Laxmi was organized basically for the benefits for board appearing candidates i.e. to discuss some of the problems which might be faced by them during preparation and to build students’ self confidence.

Ms. Tannu and Ms Laxmi scored more than 95% percent marks in CBSE board exam. Laxmi scored 98% in Science in 10th class board exam. Both the students were hard working and practiced well before the board examination.  Students questioned on different aspects and Ms. Tannu and Ms Laxmi tried to answer students’ questions. Their answers were very authentic and based on real life experience. It will be worth enough to discuss a few tips and techniques discussed in the interactive session.

How to score good marks in English/Hindi?  How to identify the speaker in Julius Caesar? How to score good marks in novel section?

Both toppers were agreed on common points that literature and reading comprehension passage do not put a bigger challenge before students but we should focus on developing writing skill continuously. We used to write letter, article and story ever since beginning of new session which gave us confidence during examination. We used to do proper practice of ‘reading comprehension’ and frequently used to practice integrated grammar questions. We should do intensive practice of writing skill and grammar section to score good marks. Laxmi said, “ Write your answer in good handwriting/legible”.

How to study Science during examination to score good marks? How to remember diagrams I.e. drawing and leveling? What types of questions come in last 2 chapters of Biology and how to attempt those questions?

Laxmi suggested that “read and develop comprehension line by line of NCERT book”. Laxmi scored 98% in Science in CBSE Board 10th class exam. She insisted that if student’s concept is clear i.e. how digestion process occurs in body, s/he will draw diagram and level it without any problem. We should focus on solving numerical of Physics and equation of Chemistry to score good marks in board examination. Tannu reinstated that reading NCERT books as many times as you can help to develop proper comprehension. We should not focus on individual author’s book during examination. Of course it develops deep understanding; however NCERT book gives you precise knowledge about complete syllabus.

How to study Social Science during examination? How to do revision during examination? What should be the next step if we stuck with a question in mathematics?

Tanu said to students,” Read History like a story”.Read the chapter as many times as you can; try to develop comprehension of text – reading only for the sake of reading will not help you in the examination…..reading with comprehension is crucial point to get good marks in Social Science. We should revise Social Science in Gap days during the examination. I have scored 96% in Social Science and of course, I wrote point wise answer in the board examination. We should not try to copy other notes and read extra help book before the examination. Understanding of text, proper revision in an interval and practice of sample paper will help in scoring good marks.

How to get good marks in mathematics? How to solve trigonometry section properly? How to manage time while solving complex mathematical problems during board exam?

Mathematics is very interesting subject, if a student practices mathematical problems regularly. Formula, derivation and conceptual understanding of theorem help student to score good marks in math. It is always wise decision to remember the formula of trigonometry. Students should practice examples of R.S Agrawal in Trigonometry Section. We should not delay or leave a question un-attempted during an examination. It is wise to attempt question and tries to solve it step by step. If you stuck in a mathematical problem – do step by step and leave it incomplete if you are unable to solve at that moment. Firstly, we should attempt last section of mathematics in the examination hall.

Both of students were very assertive and reminded so many times that we should not read new topics/books/notes during the examination. We should not delay any topics/points to read/learn at the examination time. We should learn and revise every topics mentioned in the prescribed syllabus well before examination. Ms. Tannu and Ms Laxmi advised all students to study a little more time before the examination so that they should cover all the important points and section of different chapters of different subjects. Students should trust heavily on NCERT books. Ample writing practice, solving different questions on paper, showing it to teachers and peers really help students to introspect and work on mistakes suggested by evaluators.  Last but not the least they repeatedly reminded all students that ultimately “s/he has to study, do hard work, practice more and more (previous years sample papers) for developing more comprehension about different topics. Consistent study and concentration during study are more important than reading many hours without it.

Board Exam-How to Score High Marks-Important Tips for Students-Exam Preparation Tips and Tricks

Students, teacher, school management and parents are little worried about the board(CBSE, ICSE, CIE intermediate, advance level) examination. Students are worried too much. The giant question is “How to Prepare/How to Memories/How to Manage Time for All Subjects” etc. Experienced educator, capable parent and skilled researcher agree on one essential aspect of learning that complete knowledge of prescribed syllabus, proper planning and regular study throughout the academic session help a lot for getting good marks in annual/board examination. A wise student plans ahead for the examination based on his own capacity, capability and proficiency.

In several countries examination system heavily depends on the students’ performance in a scheduled annual/board examination.  Proper planning of a Student helps him to cope up all different types of examination related stress timely.Understanding of Question Paper Pattern is one the most crucial aspect forgetting good marks in board examination. The basic question arises that who will plan and how will chalk out the plan.

Having Knowledge of prescribed syllabus

Wise student develop a better understanding of prescribed syllabus in whole academic year with the help of self-study, teacher and in some case parent. Student covers all syllabuses without distinguishing between interested and non -interesting topic. There is nothing like interested and uninterested topics in prescribed syllabus. Examination expert sets question paper based on complete syllabus.

Having Knowledge of Question Paper Pattern

Wise student develops a better understanding of question paper pattern with the help of teacher. S/he tries to draw an outline of question paper i.e.

a.       How many questions will be there in a set of question paper?

b.       How many sections i.e. Section A, Section B will be there in a question paper?

c.       What will be weight-age of each question in different sections?

d.       What will be nature of questions in different sections?

e.       What is different typology of questions i.e. based on ‘remembering’, ‘understanding’,application etc?

f.        Will there be internal question choice in different sections?

g.       What are words length mentioned for each question?

h.       What is duration of examination?

i.         How s/he will attempt all the questions within prescribed exam time?

Having Knowledge of Nature of Questions Section wise

Wise student plans ahead on the basis of different types of questions mentioned in a section. Suppose that  Science will consist of 27 questions, however an internal choice will be provided in three questions of 3 marks each, two questions of 5 marks each and one question(for assessing the practical skills) of 2 marks.

Having Knowledge of Different Questions Typology

Wise student essential needs to plan like question numbers 3 to 5 in Section B,  are of two marks. The word length of these questions will be about 30 words each. When a student prepares plan for writing these questions, she finds out that out of 3 questions in this specific section, one question will be based on ‘remembering’ (knowledge based on simple recall questions, to know specific facts, terms, concepts, principles, or theories, identity, define, recite, information) or in ‘Social Science’ question from serial number 19 to 25 are 5 marks questions. Out of 7 questions weight-age of 5 marks, word limit 100, 1 question will be based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), and 2 questions will be application based (Use abstract information in concrete situation, to apply knowledge to new situations, use given content to interpret a situation, provide an example, or solve a problem), 2 questions will be based on ‘understanding’ and another 2 questions will be based on ‘remembering’.

Having Capability to Write Quality Content/Quality Answer

The most crucial point which a wise student remembers while planning that is typology of question i.e. based on Application, HOTS, and Multidisciplinary should be answered according to nature of question. The content of answer of these different types of questions change(choice of words, use of different types of sentence i.e. assertive sentence, descriptive sentence, factual sentence, comparative, data analysis, interpretation of data,  etc). Indeed, this helps wise students in developing concise, precise, accurate and detailed quality content purely based on the nature and demand of a particular question.

Having Skill to Manage Time Properly

What do you think? If a student is very brilliant i.e. having command on subject, having clear concept , having vast knowledge on  nature of question paper etc but having very poor time managing skill; will s/he able to write all questions in a given time frame! Student cannot increase and decrease duration of examination. S/he can only develop skill of managing time wisely. Examination time is purely not Jio Internet Pack which we can buy even after finishing given value pack (1GB/2GB)on daily basis. Wise student plans for each and every section of question paper i.e.

a.       Total Time (Hour/Minutes) of Examination

b.       Time taken in other essential official work in the examination hall

c.       Total number of questions

d.       Consumed time on a question

e.       Complexity level of question

f.        Time for written answer revision

A wise student investigates, inquires and thinks over best planning, moreover s/he works on executing early discussed and developed plan in the examination hall forgetting good marks in board exam. S/he tries several times well before examination in terms of developing concepts, relevant illustration, writing skill and practicing different question paper. Practice and review of outcome will help each and every aspirant to achieve high score. So, be the first to do it! Will You—–

Exam Preparation Tips: 15 best ideas and techniques for getting high grades/score in an examination

RAJEEV RANJAN

Believe in yourself. You have inborn ability and capacity to learn.  Nobody is superior and nobody is inferior in this world. We are unique individuals. There is only a thin layer difference between success and failure. Successful people accepts challenges and work very hard to achieve them; failure people blames his failure on different other aspects. We are complete human beings.

Believe in yourself. You can perform well in the examination. Yes, I am not less than other. It may be possible that other’s has more facilities than ‘I’ but textbook is same, syllabus is same, curriculum is same, teacher is same and question paper is same for one and all therefore I have same opportunity than others to crack the illusion of an examination.

Believe in your gained knowledge of subjects during academic year. I will appear in the examination. I will write in the examination so I will prepare my complete prescribed syllabus during an academic session. A wise student studies well and studies continuously for covering prescribed syllabus. It does not matter that some had studies 5 hours in a week and 30 hours in a month but if a student studies 1-2 hours regularly, s/he will make a big difference in the examination.

RAJEEV RANJAN

Take care of your health during examination. A wise student not only works very hard for an examination but takes care of his health before and during the examination. It is crucial time for proper study and rational revision. Falling ill for one day can have negative impact on our mind. So  wise students:

@ Drink Enough Water

@ Do Breakfast Regularly and on time

@ Take Healthy Diets

Practice according to your own capacity. We are unique in all most all aspects. If we rely on our own way of learning styles and practice adequately according to our need, we will surely be a good performer. It is always attractive to know other’s way of learning but I cannot copy and instill other’s personality traits into my own personality. It is always better to practice according to need and nature of an examination. Wise student ensure learning so that at the time of examination he can recall and write on the answer sheet. Proper practice and practice several times using different tools and techniques are best solution of many problems.

**Revise learnt topics as many times as you can** rather than worrying about what you do not know

Keep yourself engaged for a short while with your social or other recreational activities. Mind retains information for a long time only when we collect it in a peaceful mind. Learning is a complex phenomenon. Peaceful mind receives more information than information collected in a complex situation. Wise student takes a short time break during revising lessons or learning different topics. (***** Warning it must be for a short period***** otherwise ***)

Follow healthy habits and learn from each and every experience in life. Positive habit formation helps an individual to become an integrated personality. Good performers always form right habit for learning new things, at the beginning of a new academic session. We learn from our different experiences. We analyze different hurdles, complexities and difficulties during our learning. We modify our learning styles to rectify these difficulties for a better performance.

Fix a comfortable place for study i.e. chair, table or other things. We train our mind to study well and retain information for a long time. When we fix a place for doing study, it helps us in studying well. It avoids distraction and increases concentration of student. We know that “more concentration, more understanding”. Our place of study should have proper light and availability fresh air for peace of mind.

Proper light and fresh air ***

Prepare a time table suitable to your ability, capacity, persistent and consistent nature. Generally it is observed that student makes a compact time table which may be continue for a few days but it fails in long term learning. No need to follow other’s instructions, suggestions and styles while preparing our time table. We need to prepare a concrete and rational time table for study different subjects. We need to evaluate our own capacity i.e.

How much time I will be able to sit?

How much time I have for self study?

How much time I can give for revision while performing other life essential tasks?

How much time I need for prepare myself for next tasks?

Develop a habit for reading consistently for whole year; no matter even if only one hour in a day. I never find a miraculous person in my life who has achieved great result in an academic field by working hard at 11th hours of examination. Working very hard before an examination is completely destroying one’s self because magic happens with once and at once in millions of people, otherwise a person who studies consistently for whole academic year; s/he only creates wonder in life. A wise student studies rationally and practice well before an examination for a better result. What do you think?

Have all your materials ready before you begin study-pencils, pens, papers, books, notebooks, notes or other study related materials. A better concentrated mind works well during a tense situation.  We should keep all necessary study materials near our study table so that whenever we need it, we can access it on right time. It saves our time as well as makes us efficient learner. It does not make any extra pressure.

Do not depend on others; work at your own pace. A good learner does not depend on others notes and resource materials. A good learner does not think about other’s way of working. Learning is completely a personal phenomenon. He develops own rational ways, techniques and tools for concrete learning. Wise learner does not expect magical support from other in the examination hall.

Do not waste your time with friends for collecting new notes on untouched topics day before examination. Wise student takes wise decision for better performance in the examination. Suppose if a student has prepared 94 percent of syllabus before one day of examination so he will adopt practical approach. I think it is better to ensure complete learning of covered syllabus, proper revision and proper practice so that there is no place of a little confusion. It may not be wise to ask notes from friend and preparing it just before examination. It is completely wasting of time. We want to reach everywhere but time does not allow us therefore revision is best medicine rather wandering here and there.

Do not learn any new material the night before the examination. Whatever happened, it happened for good thing. Whatever you studied, you studied for good result. Now, it is time to fix your learning. It is time to ensure that you have learnt very well. Develop a sense of satisfaction, a sense of confidence and strong will power to rethink, reconsider and recapitulate for better performance in the examination. If we write quality answer only then examiner will evaluate our answer properly. It is not wise to waste most precious time on exploring new material before examination.

Restore, Refresh, Relax, Rejoice, & Rejuvenate Yourself before an Examination. Can we talk with our friend? Can we talk with our family members? Can we hear our favorite music? Can we draw a picture? Can we dance to release our stress? Wise students act on various ways and means for developing concentration level before an examination. It will be purely our own choice.

Tips and Tricks for Scoring High in Social Science

Hard work is keys to success. Scoring high in board examination solely depends on student’s understanding of different topics in his own language. Most of the key terms and concepts can be correlated to daily life circumstances. Wise students correlate textual knowledge with worldly knowledge.

Read the chapter thoroughly

Intensive reading helps students in developing a better understanding of the subjects. Contextual reading helps student to remember something for a long time, because key terms, definition, date and differentiation mentioned in the textbook with proper examples. Isolated learning of key terms and different crucial date confuse student at exam time.

Preparing own notes

Since, Social science is vast subject. Students need to develop a comprehensive understanding of complete syllabus. Wise students prepare own notes. It helps student to remember Social Science facts and figure, i.e. mind map, flow chart, pie chart, key points and key terms in simple way.

Practice board based question paper

Generally, it has been observed that students learn key terms but when it comes to solve questions mentioned it question paper. They become confuse. A better understanding of question paper helps student to right specific content for specific question. Usually, board question paper evaluates students’ skill to remember facts, figure and dates (factual understanding), comprehension skill to interpret, compare, contrast, explain, paraphrase, or interpret information, question based on application evaluates students to use appropriate content for interpret a given situation, provide an example, or solve a problem, question based on HOTS to classify, compare, contrast, or differentiate between different pieces of information in unique way, generating new ideas based on given context/ correlating given context/integrating new ideas in developing good context with appropriate examples.

Write Appropriate Answer with Relevant Key Words and Illustrations

Wise students develop own quality content in terms of writing appropriate words, relevant sentences and interpret a given situation with justifiable illustration. Learning is not enough if we could not express with suitable key words and keys points. The writing skill will develop only when student practices short questions, very long questions and HOTS question, shows his/her answer to the teachers and peers, takes real feedback, and correct his/her weak points in a next attempt. It is continuous process because (a) application based questions (b) long questions and (c) HOTS question demand appropriate precise content, fluency of ideas and accuracy of sentence.

Proper Practice of Maps

Map consists of 5 marks in paper. Proper knowledge of “Political as well as Physical Map” helps students to score high marks in Social Science. General students may or may not attempt Map questions; wise students learn properly the skill of “Location Identification and Labelling” different place, i.e.  Major countries of First World War/ Nantes, Paris/ Allied Powers – France, England, (Russia), America (History) and India-States with Capitals, Tropic of Cancer, Standard Meridian National Parks : Corbett, Kaziranga, Ranthambor, Shivpuri, Kanha, Simlipal & Manas (Geography) on Map. It is quite technical. Practice location identification and lebelling it on proper map lead towards better understanding of different locations.

Deep understanding with appropriate expression on Paper

Learning “Important Terms and Concepts”, “Important Days & Dates”, “Definitions and Descriptions of an Event and Its Impact on Society, Nation and at World Level, “Characteristics of an historical, cultural and economic event/incident/decision”, “Classification & Differences between two events/incidents/social issues/issues related to different systems in Social Science is essential needs but expressing facts, figure, data, data interpretation precisely and appropriately in another most crucial thing. Getting high score in Social Science is integration of understanding of facts and figure and expressing them appropriately.

Tips and Tricks to Score 100% Marks in English Literature Section C Class 10

English Literature section is an interesting section in board examinations. Most of students assume that they will perform well in this section. A large number of Indian English Language teacher organize ‘literature’ oriented classroom; they spend a lot of time on “reading” ‘explaining text’ and dictating exercise based questions. It is observed that English language teacher leaves extensive activities based on ‘writing skill, grammar, listening and speaking’ and asks student to do its own. English Language Teaching is an integrated task where we need to distribute our teaching time equally to “Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking skill”.

Naturally, students feel very comfortable in short answer types questions i.e. questions word length 30-40 words carrying 2 mark, however questions based on “read the extract and answer based on given text” demands intensive “reading skill” and adequate practice before the examination to score 4/4. Most of students score an average marks(may be 5/8, 6/8) in long answer types questions in about 100-120 words carrying 8 marks and also the question based on prescribed novel text for extended reading in about 200-250 words carrying 10 marks.

What are the objective of assessment and evaluation of Language and Literature Section?

Recalling, reasoning, textbook appreciating, applying literary conventions, extrapolating, illustrating and justifying, extracting relevant information, identifying the central theme and sub-themes, understanding the writer’s message and write fluently….(Secondary School Curriculum 2018-19)

Question Type 1- Read the Extract Given from prescribed textbook

Question paper consists two questions (a or b) based on “Read the Extract”. Students need to attempt only one question out of two extracts from prose/poetry/play. This question evaluates student’s skill “reference to context”. Question Type 2 – Short Answer Type Questions from FIRST FLIGHT and FOOTPRINTS WITHOUT FEET /Literature Reader

Generally, this section consists of 4-5 questions to test local and global comprehension of theme and ideas (30-40 words each, 2×5 = 10 marks/ 2×4 = 8 Marks). Usually, most of the students score 8/8, 10/10 in this section. This section is easy in comparison to ‘read the extract’ section since English Language Teacher focuses so much on this section during academic session.

Question Type 3- Long Answer Type Questions FIRST FLIGHT and FOOTPRINTS WITHOUT FEET

In fact, long types question demands a lot of practice, creativity, imagination and extrapolation beyond the text and across the texts. General student scores 6/8 due to lack of poor content, logical development of paragraph, accuracy of sentences etc.  This question expects a student to be more factual, practical and vigilant before writing answer. Wise student scores 8/8 if his answer reflects meaningful points (based on factual comprehension and global comprehension of the text), proper development of ideas, sequential and chronological development of ideas, better illustration and explanations. This question presents tough and thoughtful challenges for brilliant student. This question also puts a challenge before evaluator to be more alert and do justice with student.

Question Type 4- Very Long Answer Type Questions from’ Extended Reading Text’

This question slightly differs from question type 3.Basically this question is based on theme or plot involving interpretation, inference and character i.e. “In the life of Helen Keller, Ms. Anne Sullivan acts as an inspiration behind her extraordinary life. Justify with suitable instances from the text”/ Give a pen portrait of Dr. Alexender Graham Bell/ What are Anne’s views about the Laws that restrict the Jews’ freedom / Why was Helen withdrawn from the Gilman School and how did she further pursue here education/ What happened as a result of the plagiarizing incident for Helen? What was the effect of this event on her life?(CBSE, 2017, 2018)

Tips for students for Scoring Full Marks in Long Answer Type Questions

Generally if a question carries 8 marks then the teacher gives marks on the basis of following criteria:-

Content- 4 Marks (precise, concise, specific, exact, accurate, details, summarizing, illustrious, relevant examples, creative thoughts, logical and judicious points related to the topic)

Fluency -2 Marks (Development of ideas in sequence, chronological order, flow of thoughts in right order)

Accuracy- 2 Marks (Grammatical Accuracy-Meaningful sentence, Spelling)

If a question carries 10 marks then the evaluator gives marks on the basis of following criteria:-

Content- 6 Marks (precise, concise, specific, exact, accurate, details, summarizing, illustrious, relevant examples, creative thoughts, logical and judicious points related to the topic)

Fluency -2 Marks (Development of ideas in sequence, chronological order, flow of thoughts in right order)

Accuracy- 2 Marks (Grammatical Accuracy-Meaningful sentence, Spelling)

Evaluator follows the marking scheme formula which is given by the board. Teacher evaluates Question Type 3, 4 answers on the basis of “Content, Fluency and Accuracy”. Broadly speaking, a general students attempt all the questions of ‘Literature Textbook and Supplementary Reading Text’ Section C but it is very hard to score more than 23-24 out of 30 marks. The basic difference among different types of learners occur due to 1 mark in ‘extract reading text’ and 4-5 marks in Question Type 3, 4 because getting full marks demands a lot of writing practice, quality content, fluency of thoughts and accuracy in sentence pattern. Wise students works a lot and do writing practices for long answer questions. They develop good writing skill by taking real feedback from peers, friends and teachers. Writing 200-250 words in an exam is not an easy task but surely it is possible with adequate practices, well textual understanding, proper use of key words and key terms,  proper description  of different character and events, relevant illustrations and own perspective for a specific situation.

Wise students learn the art of planting, cutting, watering and doing other activity from a gardener and sculpture artist who makes a beautiful statue by giving days and nights with full dedication. Developing writing skill demands skill of a painter/sculpture artist who works hard without any complain. When a student writes so many articles, essays, letters, story and other genres continuously, showing these genres to other friend, classmates and teacher and  takes regular feedback for her/his weak points. Extensive reading skill and intensive writing habit help students to incorporate key words and key term in their writing. Only one thing should be remember that our writing should be so specific, concise and creative for expressing the correct message to the reader.

Writing skill demands a great patience, a lot of practices and will power to edit your own written text, arranging it properly and systematically for writing a meaningful sentence and developing a meaningful paragraph. This is in fact, beautiful art to draw attention to the reader without being present at that time for explaining, actually what have you written and what message do you wish to convey to your reader. It fact, writing a meaningful paragraph depends on the practices you do before the final examination. Teacher does not know the identity of student; s/he only knows what is written in the answer sheets. S/he interprets and evaluates what has been written actually.

Exam Preparation: Study Tips and Guidelines

Hard work is a key to success. Learning part and portion of a syllabus is incomplete way for an examination preparation. Syllabus is designed to cover in a certain period. Proper planning and execution of planning with the help of good study materials can help students to achieve good score. Good students study complete prescribed syllabus. They try to develop better understanding of complete syllabus.

Wise students do regular study right from the beginning of an academic session. They develop their own study skill for developing better understanding. They fight with themselves to perform better in an examination system. They set their own target to achieve in a day to day life.

Wise students develop a better understanding of Question Pattern. Basic concept never changes. Language of question may be easy/complex/difficult but answer of that question belongs to basic concept.  A student who knows Newton’s 3 Law of Motion can give all questions’ answer based on this concept. We should try to understand the language of question.

Concrete biopsy of Question Paper Pattern

  1. Prepare a list of potentials and prospective questions based on study, nature of questions of previous years, teachers’ hint etc

Wise student analyzes question pattern of an exam. He prepares a list of potential and prospective questions based on previous year and on complete prescribed syllabus.

  1. A question paper consists of different types of questions:-

Questions pattern (a) Factual (b) Inferential(c) Analytical

  • Multiple choice questions
  • True and false
  • Matching questions
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Distinguishes between two similar or opposite nature
  • One word answer
  • Descriptive (Essay/Article)
  • HOTS
  • Many more according to need, and objective of the examination

Previous years question papers will give an insight about the nature of questions

Language of questions

Important questions repeatedly asked in consecutive years

  1. Writing practice in solving a set of question paper within a time frame

Wise students prepare a list of probable questions and do more and more practice to make a command on them. When a child appears for a board examination i.e. matriculation/ intermediate/advance intermediate; s/he should practice on a complete question set and try to solve it within a time frame. It helps student to develop a better understanding and more writing practice has great psychological and physiological effect. Students gain self confidence and self realization for taking a step of correction for improving weak points of learning.

It is better to discuss about the quality content of answer with peers/friends. It is beneficial for both the students i.e. evaluator and writer. Sometimes, student should read his own written answer script. Student gets an insight if s/he reads his own answer script. Student should re-read it after a gap of 5-6 hours so that mind works actively at that time and he would be able to identify mistakes which a student may do in extreme pressure.
