Policy Debate or Model United Nations (MUN):
Objective: Develop critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills while exploring global socio-political issues.
Activity: Students will participate in a policy debate or Model United Nations simulation focusing on contemporary social, economic, and environmental issues. Students will research their assigned country’s perspective, draft resolutions, negotiate with other delegates, and present their viewpoints in a structured debate format. Teacher should give emphasis on understanding diverse perspectives and advocating for effective solutions.
Historical Documentary or Podcast Project:
Objective: Promote historical inquiry, multimedia literacy, and storytelling skills.
Activity: Students will research a significant historical event, figure, or period relevant to the social science curriculum. Students will collaborate in groups to produce a documentary film or podcast series exploring the chosen topic, incorporating primary sources, interviews with experts, and multimedia elements. This project will allow students to delve deeper into historical contexts and present their findings in a creative and engaging format.
