A total of 1,016 candidates, comprising 664 men and 352 women, successfully passed the rigorous selection process and will be appointed for various services like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), and other central services. This year’s recruitment drive aimed to fill 1,105 positions across the government.
Rigorous Selection Process

A total number 10,16,850 applications received by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), and 5,92,141 candidates appeared for the exam. According to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) record 14,624 managed to qualify for the Main exam, and a mere 2,855 made it to the interview and personality test stage.
The selection process began with a preliminary exam held on May 28, 2023. Those who cleared this stage proceeded to take the mains exam in September 2023. Finally, only the most successful candidates from the mains were called for personality tests conducted between January 2nd and April 9th, 2024. Candidates who passed the prelims and mains showcased not just academic competence but also a comprehensive understanding of national and international issues, along with analytical and problem-solving skills.
