Students, teacher, school management and parents are little worried about the board(CBSE, ICSE, CIE intermediate, advance level) examination. Students are worried too much. The giant question is “How to Prepare/How to Memories/How to Manage Time for All Subjects” etc. Experienced educator, capable parent and skilled researcher agree on one essential aspect of learning that complete knowledge of prescribed syllabus, proper planning and regular study throughout the academic session help a lot for getting good marks in annual/board examination. A wise student plans ahead for the examination based on his own capacity, capability and proficiency.

In several countries examination system heavily depends on the students’ performance in a scheduled annual/board examination.  Proper planning of a Student helps him to cope up all different types of examination related stress timely.Understanding of Question Paper Pattern is one the most crucial aspect forgetting good marks in board examination. The basic question arises that who will plan and how will chalk out the plan.

Having Knowledge of prescribed syllabus

Wise student develop a better understanding of prescribed syllabus in whole academic year with the help of self-study, teacher and in some case parent. Student covers all syllabuses without distinguishing between interested and non -interesting topic. There is nothing like interested and uninterested topics in prescribed syllabus. Examination expert sets question paper based on complete syllabus.

Having Knowledge of Question Paper Pattern

Wise student develops a better understanding of question paper pattern with the help of teacher. S/he tries to draw an outline of question paper i.e.

a.       How many questions will be there in a set of question paper?

b.       How many sections i.e. Section A, Section B will be there in a question paper?

c.       What will be weight-age of each question in different sections?

d.       What will be nature of questions in different sections?

e.       What is different typology of questions i.e. based on ‘remembering’, ‘understanding’,application etc?

f.        Will there be internal question choice in different sections?

g.       What are words length mentioned for each question?

h.       What is duration of examination?

i.         How s/he will attempt all the questions within prescribed exam time?

Having Knowledge of Nature of Questions Section wise

Wise student plans ahead on the basis of different types of questions mentioned in a section. Suppose that  Science will consist of 27 questions, however an internal choice will be provided in three questions of 3 marks each, two questions of 5 marks each and one question(for assessing the practical skills) of 2 marks.

Having Knowledge of Different Questions Typology

Wise student essential needs to plan like question numbers 3 to 5 in Section B,  are of two marks. The word length of these questions will be about 30 words each. When a student prepares plan for writing these questions, she finds out that out of 3 questions in this specific section, one question will be based on ‘remembering’ (knowledge based on simple recall questions, to know specific facts, terms, concepts, principles, or theories, identity, define, recite, information) or in ‘Social Science’ question from serial number 19 to 25 are 5 marks questions. Out of 7 questions weight-age of 5 marks, word limit 100, 1 question will be based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), and 2 questions will be application based (Use abstract information in concrete situation, to apply knowledge to new situations, use given content to interpret a situation, provide an example, or solve a problem), 2 questions will be based on ‘understanding’ and another 2 questions will be based on ‘remembering’.

Having Capability to Write Quality Content/Quality Answer

The most crucial point which a wise student remembers while planning that is typology of question i.e. based on Application, HOTS, and Multidisciplinary should be answered according to nature of question. The content of answer of these different types of questions change(choice of words, use of different types of sentence i.e. assertive sentence, descriptive sentence, factual sentence, comparative, data analysis, interpretation of data,  etc). Indeed, this helps wise students in developing concise, precise, accurate and detailed quality content purely based on the nature and demand of a particular question.

Having Skill to Manage Time Properly

What do you think? If a student is very brilliant i.e. having command on subject, having clear concept , having vast knowledge on  nature of question paper etc but having very poor time managing skill; will s/he able to write all questions in a given time frame! Student cannot increase and decrease duration of examination. S/he can only develop skill of managing time wisely. Examination time is purely not Jio Internet Pack which we can buy even after finishing given value pack (1GB/2GB)on daily basis. Wise student plans for each and every section of question paper i.e.

a.       Total Time (Hour/Minutes) of Examination

b.       Time taken in other essential official work in the examination hall

c.       Total number of questions

d.       Consumed time on a question

e.       Complexity level of question

f.        Time for written answer revision

A wise student investigates, inquires and thinks over best planning, moreover s/he works on executing early discussed and developed plan in the examination hall forgetting good marks in board exam. S/he tries several times well before examination in terms of developing concepts, relevant illustration, writing skill and practicing different question paper. Practice and review of outcome will help each and every aspirant to achieve high score. So, be the first to do it! Will You—–
