What is Competencies?
National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage-2022 states, “
Competencies are learning achievements that are observable and can be assessed systematically. These Competencies are derived from the Curricular Goals and are expected to be attained by the end of a Stage. Competencies are articulated in Curriculum Frameworks. However, curriculum developers can adapt and modify the competencies to address specific contexts for which the curriculum is being developed. The following are examples of some of the Competencies derived for the above Curricular Goal in this NCF “Converses fluently and can hold a meaningful conversation” and “Understands oral instructions for a complex task and gives clear oral instructions for the same to others.”
